Chasing the Podium: GGP’s 95A Motor Mount Review
Share
The 2025 GR Corolla is a masterpiece of engineering, but even a masterpiece has room for a little more "edge." If you’re serious about track days or autocross, you quickly realize that the factory pitch mount is designed more for comfort than for high-G technical driving.

To kick off the 2026 season, I visited the brand-new Grocery Getter Performance (GGP) shop to have Derek himself install their 95A Durometer Motor Mount.

The GGP Advantage: The Original Solution
It’s worth noting that Derek and GGP were the first to market with a motor mount solution for the GR Corolla. While other brands are just now catching up, GGP has the longest track record of R&D on this platform.

Beyond being the pioneers, they offer:
- The Best Pricing: Top-tier performance without the "boutique" markup.
- Most Durometer Options: Whether you want a subtle street upgrade or a full-race setup like my 95A, they have the right stiffness for your goals.
The Install: Professional and Fast
Walking into the new GGP shop, you immediately see the passion for the platform. Derek handled the install personally, and it was impressively efficient. In fact, it actually took longer to get the car securely on the stands than it did for him to swap out the mount.

Performance: From the Shop to the Podium
I chose the 95A durometer, the stiffest option available, because my eyes are on the 2026 Regional trophy.

1. Immediate Tactile Difference
The change was instantaneous. The car felt "tighter."
- Acceleration: The engine no longer "rocks" back before the power hits the wheels.
- Braking & Turning: Because the engine mass is stabilized, weight transfer is much more predictable during hard threshold braking and turn-in.
-
The "NVH" Reality: Yes, there are vibrations. You feel the engine’s soul through the chassis. But for a dedicated racing goal, that mechanical connection is exactly what I wanted.
2. The Autocross Litmus Test
The very next day, I took the GR Corolla to my first event of the 2026 season. It was only my third autocross event ever, competing in the Novice BS (B-Street) Division.
I walked away with 1st Place. The response in handling and throttle was the edge I needed to stay precise through the cones. The car felt like an extension of my own hands rather than a heavy machine reacting to my inputs.
The Final Verdict
If you want to eliminate the "slop" in your drivetrain and you want a part backed by the people who supported the GR Corolla community from day one, look no further. GGP has set the standard, and the results on the track speak for themselves.
Final Note: A huge thanks to Derek for the hospitality at the new shop and for building parts that actually win races.
